TOPIC 1

Team member
Alan Ebright
Senior Investment Officer, Check Capital

There’s depth to Alan Ebright’s three decades of assisting investors. Beginning his career in the mid-90s on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange, he executed trade orders from both institutional and retail investors. He then concentrated on the institutional side of the business, working with investment bankers and professional money managers. The second half of Mr. Ebright’s career has been focused on helping individual investors with their personal finances. Firmly convinced that investor behavior is the primary determinant of long-term success, he patiently assists his clients in mastering their mindset. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance/Accounting from the University of Southern California.

Taming Human Emotions for Better Investment Results

In my 32 year career, I feel that the single biggest contributor to lackluster investing results lies not in the underlying investments, but between the ears of the respective investor. We are constantly bombarded with news, both negative and positive, that plays on our emotions and often times makes us act irrationally. From political bias to confirmation bias, to the fear of loss and fear of missing out. It’s essential to temper these feelings and I’ll offer some ways to do so for better investing results.
Attend this talk and learn…
  • How fear of loss and fear of missing out are the exact same things
  • Tips on how not to become your own worst enemy
  • Why most people have mediocre investment results

TOPIC 2

Team member
Mark Skousen, Ph.D.
Economist, Writer and Newsletter Author

Mark Skousen, Ph.D., is editor in chief of Forecasts & Strategies, an award-winning investment newsletter (www.markskousen.com). He was recently named one of the top 20 living economists in the world, and in 2018, Steve Forbes awarded him a triple crown in economics for his work in economic theory, history and education. In 2014, he was appointed a presidential fellow at Chapman University. He has worked for the government (as a CIA analyst), nonprofits (president of FEE) and several for-profit companies. From 2004 to 2005, he taught economics and finance at Columbia Business School and Columbia University. He was a columnist for Forbes magazine. His investment books include “Investing in One Lesson” (Regnery Publishing, 2007), “The Maxims of Wall Street” (Capital Press, 2017) and “A Viennese Waltz Down Wall Street: Austrian Economics for Investors” (LFB Publishers, 2013).

Opening the Door to Maximum Gains & Ten Baggers in 2026 and Why I’m Joining the Oxford Club

Come hear “America’s Economist,” Mark Skousen, reveal which stocks and sectors are still hot for the rest of 2026, and where to make double and even triple digit returns. Mark will share his outlook for foreign markets and the dollar, tech, gold and silver, defense (war), tech, nuclear, and uranium stocks, and unique penny stock opportunities. Of note, Mark was able to triple the Dow in 2025 with a diversified portfolio of tech, commodity plays, and ETFs making exceptional returns with no losses in 15 recommendations.. and why most of his 17 current recommendations are still beating the market. Mark will also discuss why after 45 years of writing his newsletter, Forecasts & Strategies, he left Eagle Publishing and moved to the Oxford Club, tripling his subscription base overnight. Finally, for those in attendance at Hotel Angeleno, Mark will share his favorite “penny stock” for 2026 which he has nicknamed his “ten bagger.” (To avoid moving the market, Mark feels comfortable in only recommending his penny stock tip to a limited number of investors. Additionally, Mark will be on hand to autograph copies of the new 12th edition of “Maxims of Wall Street” and his new book, “The Greatest American: Benjamin Franklin, the World’s Most Versatile Genius.”)

Attend this talk and learn…
  • Best places to invest in 2026 both domestically and internationally
  • Are commodities and precious metals solid investment opportunities for 2026?
