All have been back-tested to work during every up and down in the market over the last ten or twenty years. Is this really the case? Market timing is a lot, and we mean a lot, more difficult than it looks. But no one talks about the challenges, perils, and pitfalls, of building a market-timing model. Until today. Jeff Heller will share the real challenges of building a market-timing model; the good, the bad and the ugly.

Jeff Heller has a Finance degree from San Diego State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.  While he has never worked as an investment professional, Jeff has always been fascinated by economics and markets.  When he was 17 years old, he invested in egg futures, and lost his shirt in two weeks.  Based on this experience he thinks more about risk than return, developing his own style of investing which he calls "Safety First Investing."  Jeff is a Board Member of AAII Los Angeles and Co-Chair of the Chapter’s Program Committee.
